Primary Years Curriculum
Providing a nurturing environment for every child.
Each of our primary learning communities provide a nurturing yet challenging environment in which each child’s strengths are valued and developed.
The primary curriculum at Trinity is based on the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (IB PYP) which focuses on the development of the whole child as an active inquirer, both in the classroom and the world outside. IB PYP schools seek to ensure that learning is engaging, relevant, challenging and significant. Trinity has been accepted as an IB candidate school and began its journey at the start of 2018 towards authorisation as an IB World School.
The PYP curriculum program is guided by six transdisciplinary themes of global significance that are explored using concepts, knowledge and skills with an emphasis on guided inquiry with real life, authentic outcomes. The culmination of the Primary Years Programme is the Year 6 Exhibition. The PYP program of inquiry will be incrementally implemented across all primary year levels during 2018 and 2019. More information can be found on our PYP Program of Inquiry page.
