Sport is an essential part of the curriculum at Trinity Lutheran College and an exciting part of our co-curricular offerings with several of our students reaching state – and in some cases national level – in their chosen pursuit. This creates a wonderful focal point to college life and has reinforced the quality of our coaches and Sporting Excellence programs.
In Curriculum
Sport is an essential part of the curriculum at Trinity Lutheran College for a healthy body is vital for a healthy mind.
Physical Education and Health classes are undertaken at all year levels with the focus on participation to the best of a student’s ability using movement and motivation to enable and challenge active living. There is much research and evidence supporting the notion that regular physical activity is imperative in maximising student learning outcomes and academic performance especially as students reach the senior year levels. The prep students participate in a twice weekly Perceptual Motor Program (PMP). All Physical Education classes are taken by specialist teachers.
Interhouse Sport
Inter-house sporting carnivals in athletics, cross country and swimming are key events within the College calendar and an exciting time for participants and spectators, including parents. These whole of college events develop student leadership, collegial spirit and foster a strong team culture, whilst providing further opportunities for individual students to represent the school and compete at higher levels through School Sport Victoria (SSV).
Co-curricular & Interschool Sports
The school provides coaching for students with particular talent or passion in the individual and team sports that we offer. Throughout the year, students are given opportunities to compete in a range of inter-school sports with direct channels that can lead to regional, state and national level competition for Year 5 and above. Trinity competes in the School Sport Victoria (SSV) Sunraysia division for both primary and secondary competitions.

(Note: not all sports are offered to all age groups.)
Over the years, Trinity Lutheran College students have gone on to compete at state level in volleyball, swimming and athletics.
Sporting Excellence
A range of individual and team sports are on offer including excellence coaching programs to assist talented and passionate children grow their skills and attain regional and state recognition and representation.
